Could any of you guys who actually KNOW soccer please take a look at my ICSA
Arsenal team and clue me in on what I might be doing wrong? I have a talented
team that is playing far below their talent, and that is because I don't know
crap about when I should be using certain formations, substitutions, what type
of game plan, and so on. I've just been letting it run on auto-pilot, but
that's no fun.

So if anyone can spot anything that I am doing wrong, or not doing, or
whatever, can you please let me know or give me some guidance?

Thanks!

Yeah - I don't KNOW soccer! haha!

I didn't know if it was possible or not for any of you guys who DOES know
soccer to look at my roster and some of my box scores, and pinpoint where I'm
screwing up. Or to take a look and say "I'd be using a blah-blah defense, and
move this guy to that position, and play a more attacking style...and why the
hell are you using this guy a goalie when you have this guy, and blah, blah."

That might be asking too much, but that's what I'm looking for. I need to catch
Ryan Perdue and leave him in my dust! haha!

In EFA,

we have had several different styles win championships in the past few seasons.

I play a bizzare 5-3-2 heavy defense which purist probably hate. Where I
just load the defense, with tacklers and every pass is rushed way downfield to
one or two of my excellent forwards- and don't even worry about ball control
except in the forwards.

Karim, plays a much more patient 4-3-3 longball style I believe with better
ball control guys.

Red plays a big defensive 4-3-3 mostly where he's very patient and gives up
hardly any shots.

Newdorf is a moderate 4-3-3, with a bit of long ball- but he always has great
ball control players.

Chris you might not know soccer, but think of it in a basketball way. How
do you want to play. Ball control, fast break, work the ball, force it to a
star, or have guys drive it up.
It's like a good basketball team. You can't just have a hodegepodge
spattering of players, you really need a philosophy then get the players to use
it.

I realize that might be a tad vague, but it's really not that much different
then building a basketball team.
