I was that close to retiring from Soccer
this is crazy
954 T.Morrissey DF 90 0 2 2 0 4/28 22/80 59
643 R.Silverman DF 90 0 0 0 0 0/1 2/4 61
523 G.Jones DF 90 0 0 0 0 0/0 1/1 61
628 K.Kanell DF 90 0 1 1 0 1/10 0/9 61
watch Morrissey here-
17:08
Ference advances to (middle, attacking end)
Ball cleared by 954 Morrissey, recovered by 664 Torres
Torres heads the ball down the field to 395 Baker at (left wing, attacking end)
Pass intercepted by 954 Morrissey
-----------------------------
Here Ference is driving down the field and Morrisey steals the ball, so then we
try passing to my other forward and Morrisey intercepts that pass too. He's
covering both guys- (plus he stole a few balls from my midfielders) Pretty
awesome for a 4 speed defender.
It reminds me of Lawrence Taylor on old Nintendo Tecmo Bowl in 1993, where
he could get from one side of the screen to the other so fast you could never
run any play without LT making the tackle.
Something about seeing the same defender's name every play that really makes me
frustrated.

Easy Normal Tough V.Hard Imposs
Num Name Num Sv Num Sv Num Sv Num Sv Num Sv

LOL, how many times have i been frustrated like this lol.
Fow Morrissey Defence, He is the only DF i know of that won the MVP, he is the
best defender in the league.
When it comes to forwards, there is a trick.
Though, I agree with AJ, some of those numbers really dont make sense.

Oh really?
hmmm. thats cool he was an MVP. He looks good, but I didn't realize he was
that good.
still I wish soccer would get a little upgrade before too long.

Im just spitballing here . . . I wonder if Morris with his 10 SPD, 6 INT was
putting some slick moves on Ortiz and his 1 SPD, 5 INT.
A question I would ask is, where were these goals being shot from? If your
defenders are letting the forward parade in for short unmarked shots, you know
your keeper is toast.
As far as the man defense issue; are you still playing that 5-3-2 formation?
Try putting three forwards in, with at least one who has a high PS and IN, and
see how bad that man defense looks :-)
I have been experimenting a LOT the last couple seasons, and I can tell you
that the equation is not as simple as Forward vs Keeper or Forward vs Defender.
Your team aggression, your trap settings, and your team's posture all seem to
have very pronounced effects on how good of a shot your opponent is going to
get.

there was some poor goaltending, Ortiz went 4 of 9 on normals, only 1 close
goal.
Ortiz was replaced by Holder- whose done OK since.
yeah, I'm still running the 5-3-2. I'd really want a 5-2-3 but it doesn't
exist!
On the offensive end I was OK with the 3 goals, despite this post.
Giving up 6 however, is a bit tough. Especially since, I played a heavu
defense for much of that game.
meaning 8 guys back thinking defense first.

Heavy Defense might be the start of your problems. I tend to give up more goals
when I use it . . .

it's interesting because the past few seasons I've ended the year being 1st or
2nd in shots allowed. Not hard shots either.
I sort of am wondering if last year was an anomolie of bad goalie play.
