Just want to make sure I am reading this right. From the rules:
Passers: more likely to be passed the ball as you work your way upfield.
Passers should have high passing skills and decent ball control.
So, this means teammates will be more likely to pass the ball to to a
designated passer-as opposed to passers in the basketball sim, who are more
likely to pass the ball when they have it . . . correct?

I do not believe so Red. The passer will pass the ball more to his partner but
the pass receiver passing abilities (aouch that sounded complicated) is not
taken into consideration unless Andy proves me wrong on this one.

Well, what it's trying to say is that, when player X is trying to figure out
what to do, he will prefer to do one of the following:
1. keep it, if he is designated as a handler
2. pass it to a passer who isn't in position to shoot
3. pass it to a striker who is in position to shoot
This is the same as in the basketball sim.

I forgot I had posted this question LOL
Ok Andy, Im still not clear:
"Well, what it's trying to say is that, when player X is trying to figure out
what to do, he will prefer to do one of the following:
1. keep it, if he is designated as a handler
2. pass it to a passer who isn't in position to shoot

Ok, in this example, is Player X NOT a designated passer? In other words, are
players in general going to try and get the ball to a designated passer more
then they would the other players in general? That is how I am reading it . . .

I don't see how it matters what player X is. If player X has the ball, but
isn't a handler, shooter, or passer, should he just turn the ball over to the
opposing team?
If player X shouldn't have the ball, it's too late to fix it once he's gotten
it. What matters is the assignments of the OTHER players, so that player X can
try to get the ball to a player in a situation that will let that player carry
out his assigned role.

Im not making myself clear, I guess.
What I am trying to understand is this:
Assume Player X has no assignment as handler, passer or striker. He has the
ball and has the choice of passing to either another player with no assignment
or to a player who is designated as a passer. Is Player X more likely to
attempt a pass to the passer?
