Karim and Serge-regarding the email you sent about the proposed rule change in
juniors-

I agree with the rule, as well as the need for the rule. However, before I
vote, I am wondering if you have in mind any kind of warning to be given, and a
time period to allow the offending coaches to trade/cut the players in
violation.

Also, you gave no indication how the vote would take place. Since Karim's
listed email address is Admin, I dont know if anyone who simply hits the
"reply" button is going to get their response to you. How should we register
our votes?

I was going to go press release...... but this is probably better.

true a juniors team should reflect players attempting to someday play premier.

BUT REALISM???
a structure where the most succesful GM is the guy who can log on at exactly
14:01 the 2nd day of waivers or 14:01 training camp day in a clickfest race to
fill his minor roster??
these are the secret GM tactics which no one wants to give out?
No ones bidding for minor league players... most of it is just a race to who
can click the freebies fastest.

So by missing clickfest, you should carry a bunch of worthless players as
opposed to guys who could contribute if neccessary.

I imagine everyone will vote and this will go into effect. Which is fine....
but if your going to claim "realism" well I thought I'd get that off my chest-

Red,

“However, before I vote, I am wondering if you have in mind any kind of
warning to be given, and a time period to allow the offending coaches to
trade/cut the players in violation.”

I thought I did say it, but if not, my mistake. I will send out a press release
to say which team are in violation, and give them a date line, somewhere along
a few days to make the necessary arrangement.

“I dont know if anyone who simply hits the "reply" button is going to get
their response to you”

Yes I will get the email if you press reply, cos if you check, you can see that
the email comes from dolphinsim@hotmail.com

AJ,

“a structure where the most succesful GM is the guy who can log on at exactly
14:01 the 2nd day of waivers or 14:01 training camp day in a clickfest race to
fill his minor roster??”

I don’t agree with you. I have never been part of this click fest, maybe a
few coaches do, but not me. I have laid bet in the WW for talented young
players, of course here I am giving away one of my tactitcs, so nothing stops
you from signing a prospect for very cheap in the waiver wire. Have a look at
my minor (which am done cutting players yet) and you can see that it’s
actually a pretty decent one and some of the prospects otu there i pay them
more then the 0.04 minimum.

“So by missing clickfest, you should carry a bunch of worthless players as
opposed to guys who could contribute if neccessary.”

The FA is to go get your second or third string guy, not too get an AA guy who
would score 120G a season. The good players you get them thru trades and WW,
come on AJ, you know better.

“If your going to claim "realism" well I thought I'd get that off my chest”

Those rules have been proposed to make it more realistic, so people don’t go
on about the clickfest thing AJ. I hate that clickfest and everything about it.
So by saying you can’t sign players and stuck them in your minor league just
for the hell of it, we say, your minor league is for prospect so act
accordingly.

Oh and one more thing, but am sure you are well aware of: everyone values
talent differently, so when a prospect looks completely worthless to me, he
might look like the next Ronaldo to you.

I hesitated longly before answering. but here is my point.

1- Red : I hope that Karim's answer clarified the warning delays issue. If not,
send me an email.

2- Red : For the votes, you do have our email, and I know that it says Admin,
as well as I know that dolphinsim@hotmail.com can be unclear.

3- AJ : AJ I know that something was on your chest, but I was really
disapointed to see you sent me an indirect message through a forum when you
clearly had my email. I do not use the click fest, and the reason for that is
the when the fa agents are freed from the waiver wire list, i have already
signed almost all the ones that i want. i did say that i didn't want to give
out my secrets in a forum, but i wouldn't mind sharing them with a few coachs
by email. i didn't share all my player options on the forum, but you can ask
Red, he'll tell you that i already gave him all the options that i had for my
team(who plays and what subs). I am karim's assitant coach in iofa, and he
knows my secrets, and we only signed 2 fa agents, and that is because we didn't
want to be fined for not having enough players, all the rest were waiver wires.
I always change a lot my minor league roster through the season. the players
who don't play well, are cut, and others are signed, even after mid season.

4- AJ : If you think that after the click fest there are no more talented
players in the fa, here are some examples :

gks
1201 P.McCallum GK 21 7 1 5 3 2 4 3 L 12
654 W.Phillips GK 18 5 5 5 4 2 3 3 R 8

dfs
470 J.Kim DF 21 2 3 2 5 8 1 4 R 12
953 S.Kelly MF 19 1 2 5 5 6 7 3 - 12
277 M.Mancino MF 19 1 5 7 4 6 5 2 L 10

mfs
 54 C.Mostowy MF 19 1 2 6 6 5 6 2 L 13
210 B.Halvorson DF 18 2 2 7 5 5 3 4 - 11
29 P.Coughlin MF 18 5 1 5 5 4 6 2 R 8

fds
347 W.Harris FD 20 6 6 4 5 3 8 4 R 13
660 K.Walsh FD 21 6 5 2 5 5 7 5 L 12

and these are quick examples that i picked in less than 3minutes. i think i am
going to sign coughlin by the way. here i just did. i think that you did a
great job with your major league team, and i am sure you'll do a great one on
your minor.

5- AJ : realism is :
a- soccer around the world is played over 21 and under 21. no players over 21
can play with the under 21 team. but if a player is very talented (rooney) he
can play with the over 21 team even at 19.

b- a manager would not spend real money to keep a good player in a minor
league, knowing he won't use him later. he would keep the money so the board
won't fire him.

6- AJ : you already have a few good very young players in your minor team :
tubo, mohammed, mcconaghy and donoghue.
in stead of paying triple the normal minor league salary on players who are
going no where, keep that money and invest it on young players in the next
waivers. if you really want hints on signing very young players, send me an
email, and i'll tell you.

hell, it is 3 in the morning. good night every one.

"AJ I know that something was on your chest, but I was really

Serge- you and Karim asked for a league consensus- I didn't think there was
anything that needed to be personnal.

I also realize national sides have a side, and an under 21 side.

However, on the league level - most clubs have like 5-8 sides don't they? It's
not unrealistic to have a 30 year old on 2nd team trying to make premier.

I'm also assuming players don't progress much after 25-

I realize most people will want this change, so it's not worth my time debating
it. I am glad you are allowing 2 exceptions to be carried on the JR's roster.

I'm just not accustomed to seeing so much talent on the free agent list after
waivers, where in other sports at best you can get an subpar replacement
- not a AA.BB starter. Something in me hates seeing guys like that just
available for free.

The reasons why such players are available, it's because we cut from a division
league to one, so you had an overwhelming amount of talent available, but
things will correct them selfs very soon, hence the importance of having a good
minor team

oh Karim.... that makes sense.

AJ i didn't mean anything to be personal, but i was the one to say "secrets" so
i felt a little personal in it.

aj i completely agree with you on that. but i have a feeling you are mixing
minor/major with divisions. a 30y old can be in division 5 trying to move to
premiere but can't be in a minor league team trying to move to major.

in efa we have twice the talent that we should have for the reasons that karim
specified, but some teams are packed with talent, and others aren't. you should
take a look at some of the teams who barely have a few talented players. as
soon as you'll free those players from your team, they will be signed on
waivers. and you'll see about that.

It all makes sense now- I forgot there was a 1st division before I started.

It should even itself out soon-

One thing which would be nice is that for every player with minor league
eligibility on your major league roster, should allow you that many extra
exemption spots in juniors.

This way if you want to try a player with minor league eligibility out in the
majors and see how he plays, you have an option of bringing up a guy from
juniors who would be considered a veteran without having to do much/any roster
reshuffling.

Maybe that's why every team is allowed to have and up to two players that
violate those rules in juniors.
