I dont understand this at all-like most everything about Del economics. Im
wondering how this happened:
Before training camp:
50 players on roster
Annual budget: $58 million
Payroll: $52.00 million
Salary including up-front bonuses: $52.00 million
After Training camp:
Same 50 players on roster
Annual budget: $58 million (the same)
Payroll: $57.70 million (includes $0.00 million from minors)
Salary including up-front bonuses: $57.70 million
Luxury Tax: $3.89 million
First time Ive ever had a team that had to pay a luxury tax. Still, Im
wondering how my payroll by almost 2 million dollars overnight . . . or maybe
this will correct itself when I start putting people in the minors or cutting
them?
