i have finished studying most of the teams in efa, and i am trying to scout
for young talent in some of them. i have noticed that a lot of coachs are using
their minor teams to store half decent old players to keep them from other
teams. to my belief, players on minor teams should respect at least 2 of the
following conditions
- age under 24
- training under 16
- minor seasons left on contract.

should there be a condition that allows a commish to cut players from a team
after warning a coach a few times? here are some players on minor teams:

klingons
417 D.Behar GK 36 8 9 7 5 1 3 4 L 24 100 B B GK
559 J.Davis DF 30 2 5 2 6 9 2 3 - 22 100 C B DF
850 C.Gutierrez DF 36 2 3 4 5 9 4 4 L 25 100 B B DF
557 E.Bang MF 33 1 5 5 7 6 4 10 L 23 100 B B DF
538 W.Ross MF 31 4 4 8 7 5 4 7 L 23 100 B B MF
1815 D.Hanson MF 34 3 5 7 8 4 4 10 - 23 100 B B MF

nationals
1048 M.Dewalt MF 27 2 4 7 10 4 5 3 R 19 100 B B MF
 1862 K.Brown MF 27 2 8 6 8 4 7 6 L 18 100 B B MF

redstar
734 W.Abramo DF 26r 5 8 5 4 7 6 3 R 20 100 C C MF

metropolitans
323 F.Delacruz FD 39 8 3 2 8 1 1 7 - 24 100 C C FD
1143 S.Canty FD 31 7 1 2 10 1 0 8 L 21 100 B B FD

and this is only the top 8 teams, you should see some of the other teams. and i
have only chose the worst cases of each team. you should see the rest of the
klingons team.

i would propose a 3 warnings system for players on minor teams that don't
respect at least 2 of 3 conditions that we could set. or else the player would
be cut. i am sure that this would make the competition better, and avoid having
some coachs like the magicians who cut all their players to have a new young
team.

i agree with serge, the minors are made to evaluate prospects, so how can you
do so when you play a laouzy Minor league team i.e all FF, or against guys who
could play in the majors.

I think that since the EFA is getting back alive, Serge and I are going to
start a poll with EFA coaches to come up with a league rule.

Well then something needs to be done about TOO MUCH TALENT in EFA.

I agree that minors aren't being used as they should, and I am using half my
squad for a) backups in case someone gets hurt b) because I don't want to play
against them somewhere else.
and there are still good players on the free agent list!

- But there is a problem when after the second day of waivers the free agent
market was still full of AA players

When everyone on a team is a superstar, it takes away from the game I think.

aj,

a soccer team has 10players and 1gk. your major allows you 22 players, which
means that you already have 11backups. so i don't think that you really need
minors for that.

we are trying to make soccer as realistic as possible. do you think that a 33y
old player would accept playing in a minor?

if free agency is full of AA players, check your players, if yours are better,
you don't need fa players, if they are not, exchange them. some teams have over
30M immagine it they signed everything in the waiver wires and put them in
their minor, would you think that it would be fair? well not me.

should that be considered as a 'no' vote? would you be against it? i don't why
andy would put minor league years, if we should be able to change that. i think
that the rule should say, no minor league years, no minor league play....

I am planning on sending an email to the league to instore a league rule
regarding the minor league to avoid coaches signing players so other team cant
have them

i am strongly against this way of handeling a team, and as soon as i find time,
the league is going to get an email from me.

Karim...

there shouldn't be a bunch of AA players who don't have jobs. First of all
thats the most unrealsitic thing ever. If they are that good they'd go play
somehwere else... not sit the bench in EFA.
yeah I think a guy would rather get a paycheck.... then none at all don't
you?

If this starts to look like Pro basketball where the best teams have every guy
with 10 defense and 10 scoring, I'm going to lsoe interest. you should be able
to look at a team and see strengths and weakness not a bunch of 9's and 10's
across the board.

there are enough and not too much talented players for each team. it is just
that some teams aren't hiring. take a look at the bottom 3 teams in the league.
how many AA players do you see in the magicians team? if they start hiring,
there wouldn't be any AA players left in fa.

i agree that we shouldn't let AA players free, but there are no AA players on
your minor as i see. the players in your minor team aren't good players, they
even managed to lose 2games and draw2 in the minor league, and they are
supposed to be major leagues material.

i agree that a player would prefer a pay cheque than nothing, but you see,
there are rules that forbid maradona to play in the argentinian under 21 team,
pay cheque or no.

do you think that it is normal the average age on your major team is lower than
the one on your minor team?

One thing I have noticed in my short time in the soccer sim is, not all AA
players are really that good. Maybe overall they have good numbers, but it
seems like a lot of AA guys are lacking in the skills needed for their
position.

Maybe the issue is not too many AA players, but rather the sim doesnt rate them
very well.

As for the minor league situation- even though I'm trying to use my minor team
as intended, as a place to evaluate youngsters, I would be against making that
the only way you can do it. If your juniors are full of AA players, with AA
player salaries, you are going to have to deal with a very hefty payroll, and
that will hurt you down the road. I think the system corrects itself in that
respect, so I feel no action should be taken. If any action IS taken, I would
suggest placing a salary cap of some kind on junior teams.
