I see there is a setting in training for "set plays". What are they, and how do
they effect my teams play?

corner kicks, penalty kicks, free kicks etc.... I imagine.

you'd be better at them.

Set plays means that the team will try to make up tactics, and they will use
some plays during the game, X passes to Y, Y move up at a 45 degree angle to
the left, while X moves to his left, Y passes to X, X shoot. they will practice
that and will try to do it during the game.

Or like AJ said, they will try something during a free quick like X fakes the
shot, and Y shoots it, and same thing go for corners and stuff

training is a sort of boost in certain domains in soccer. this boost affects
only one game at the time, and isn't cumulative. on your roster page, you have
the "Team chemistry" value. the set plays boosts up this in your team.
