What is wrong with the sim? Take a look at the stats for Farber and Lagrega.
GAA SAVE% Wins SO
Lagrega 1.23 .935 40 11
Farber 2.44 .894 29 12
Who should be goalie of the year?
Farber had 42 losses!! Yes he played a lot of games but his goals against is
double that of Lagrega
Lagrega's save percentage is 41 points higher than Farber.

It likely has something to do with- if both goalies were identical defenses and
had the same degree of difficulty shots, etc...
I agree with you though, to me it was simple.

Andy, how is the goalie of the year picked? Is it just based on starts?
Something has to change in the calculation for the goalie of the year!

Although I agree with the both of you, I never look at win/loss to evaluate a
goalie. Even GAA or Shutouts for that matter aren't too relevant to me as all
of those are impacted significantly by the team in front of the goalie. Save %
can be too as a good team will clear rebounds or the front of the net so the
goalie can see the shot but, in general, a good goalie on a mediocre team will
have a better save % than a bad goalie on a good team since the better
netminder will give up fewer crap goals. Granted, that's a real life take on
things not necessarily something that can be backed up in the sim.
Anyway, I do agree that there's no in hell the guy who won should've...
