So I've been looking at players again this week and getting a feel for the kind
of players that can hit, get loose pucks, etc.
It donned on me that I don't really understand the value of a "hit" in the sim.
My general take is that it should either a) seperate a player from the puck or
b) make an opponent less likely to get a loose puck.
Any thoughts?

My understanding is that a) is the correct answer. But I often see losing
teams record more hits, presumably because the winning team has the puck more
often overall (winning faceoffs, winning loose puck battles) and thus can get
separated from it more often.

I wonder if hits also cause the players who get hit to fatigue faster . . .
In any case, faceoffs and loose pucks won are considerably more important then
hits.
