In the HEL my team is listed as draft pick #7. I'm not complaining, just
wondering if this is going to change at season initialization? I won my
division but lost in the play-offs (darn you AJ!) and had a fairly high point
total. I am pursuing some trades and plan on having draft picks involved. I
don't want to mislead anyone into thinking they are getting a #7 pick when it
may change to #24.

It looks like it's showing positions for the last draft. This should be
updated when the season initializes. In the meantime you can find your
approximate position by comparing points.

Thanks, I thought it was last year.

Now, one more trade question, while you're here. If I offer a trade and want
to get a first round pick, in exchange I offer a player who is a "unsigned
RFA1.58C", would that be the same as offering a 1st rounder? He isn't willing
to sign with my team, but perhaps he would with the team I'm offering him to ;)
Then I figure if he doesn't then that team would get a 1st rounder in exchange
when he signs with someone else. Which he will since he scored 38 goals. Would
that be an accurate way of thinking on my decision to offer that person?

RFAs are a little tricky.

Firstly all RFAs are willing to resign with your team for a renegotiation
price. So if you like the player enough you can just go ahead and resign him.
The second option that you have is to qualify the player. The qualifiying
price is the 1.56C that you see. The 1.56 means that you give him that as the
qualifying offer and retain his rights. MEaning that if noone bids higher on
him, he is yours for 1.56 (which is a bit of a gamble but definitely cheaper
than his renegotiation price). Now if someone bids higher on a player that you
qualified and he sidned with their team you receive compensation in the form of
a draftpick. C=1st rounder. The other option is you dont qualify him at which
point he becomes an unrestricted free agent and you get no compensation.

Hope this helps.

Ahh, you're right. I was looking at the ** under 'value-yr' column and I was
so used to players not wanting to re-sign that I thought that was the column
that told me they didn't want to re-sign. My mistake.

Thanks for the help. It helps me tremendously.
