This topic concerns mostly commishes. But everyone could be interested since
playing in a full human controled team is better than in a human empty league.
The new sign-up process that Andy set up recently is for my league a huge
success. The NABA was going nowhere with barely 10 teams controled by veteran
coaches.
And today we reached the great number of 27 human coaches in the league. Only 3
teams are left available. I may see a lot of turnover but who knows? Maybe some
coaches will stick to the league.
Anyway, I am very happy with this process. Thanks to Andy for this initiative.

Hmm, what is this proces you are raving about?

I agree with you Laurent, I can even see a change in soccer, which was a "dead"
sport for a while on DEL.

I might be even MORE interested if I had the foggiest idea what you are talking
about.

I'm thrilled that there is an unknown commish process that has them happy and
anyone else in the dark.
Huzzah!! Huzzah!! Huzzah!!

Since I'm the resident rebel commish, I'll tell you. Andy sends out naked pics
of Jessica Rabbit to all new owners.

Im guessing, Karim and Jeff convinced Andy to advertise and make the pages more
user friendly. IBA has been dead for 4 seasons. We have more coaches than ever,
hope they stick

I am really happy about the increased amount of new coaches. That being said I
still think there is so much we can do to take DEL over the top.
P.S. Karim, if the soccer help files were available in multiple languages and
Andy promoted on non-English websites I'm sure those leagues would fill up
also.
Just a thought.

Obviously, or Karim and Jeff wouldn't be into it. Duh.

"soccer is gay"
You don't even know the game, it's only the most popular sport in the world.
Playing soccer my whole life, I find myself defending the game all the time. It
is a tough physical sport, you have to have the condition to be in the game for
90 minutes, without any time outs. It is way more physical then people think,
3 refs, 22 players, a lot of dirty stuff goes on, believe me. I guess it takes
someone to play the sport, to truely understand how great of a game it
actually is.
Back to the normal topic, this change has been great, the baseball waiting list
has been unreal, it will be nice to have full leagues everywhere.

I used to play soccer when I was younger, its a great sport to play...it gets a
bad reputation though from the elite players who dive when they have barely
been touched.
It certainly gets physical though, especially in the goalbox when corners are
coming in

I played soccer growing up. Great sport. Lots of fun to play. I truely enjoyed
fully every minute of it. But, to this day, I am surprised my parents watched
so much of it. I mean. It's just so BORING to watch!

I equate playing and watching soccer to chess. If you really love it you can
actually watch someone else play it, otherwise it is the dullest thing
imagineable. Also you have to truly enjoy it to play it. For me it was always
just running around hoping the ball came my way some day.

I compare it to Johnny Gunn...both gay...keefe was right

"it gets a bad reputation though from the elite players who dive when they have
barely been touched."
Watching the last World Cup probably left the impression that Soccer was full
of Vlade Divac's flopping all over the pitch. Which sometimes, it does look
like.
It's hard to defend a sport as tough, when you have guys taking dives like a
bunch of #%^#@*'s.

AJ... how about this...
There were so many dives being taken at the World Cup that Greg Louganis was
given a tryout for the U.S. Men's team.

Soccer is not any more boring than .. golf or curling. And yes, I will put
those into the same category of utter boredom.

They can't take flops anymore, they changed the rules, they hand out yellow
cards, now.. Better then Rugby, which should be called Smear the Queer... I
mean Smear Keefe or Jay. Bunch of meatheads running around trying to tackle
the guy with the ball, a ton of strategy there.
That's OK, not everyone can like soccer, just saying, it's not a gay sport like
figure skating, Scott's favorite.
It's not even my favorite sport, just saying it deserves a bit more respect
then you guys give it credit for.

Ok, I thought this thread was about new sign up process, so i never looked.
I have been playing soccer for 16-17 years now, I almost made as a pro if I
didn't bang up my new (nothing new).
How can you say that it's a gay sport, check out all the contact, the tricks
with the ball, the tactics.
It's the most popular sport in the world and for a reason. Give a kid a piece
of paper, he will roll it up and play soccer with it.
The diving and stuff, you can thank the italians. It use to happen a lot but
not anymore. Players who use to dive a lot were gays, I agree, and keefe must
know a lot about that.

Hello
Let me say it so. I know both very well. As i grow up i was a huge soccer fan.
With 14 i found football and love it much more. It is much more spectacular to
watch. It can happen something in every play. Soccer can be boring if nothing
happens.
But i still see soccer on every saturday in a bar with friends and in autumm
and winter i see football on sunday.
But for kids is soccer much easier to play. We did it every day as i grow up.
bye MJ
