With DEL's football leagues at capacity (including CCCL), it's been decided to
create a new football league on the site, the Web Football League (WFL).
However, this one will have a twist -- it'll initially be open only to coaches
with under 3 seasons of experience in pro football leagues. The idea is
twofold. First, we don't want to take coaches away from the other football
leagues, something that often happens when new leagues start. And second,
since a lot of the coaches will be newbies, they'll have a better go of it (and
be more likely to stick around) if they're not going up against the Keefe
Cullens of the DEL world.
Also, because of the lack of experience, this league won't be having a full
redraft, as is customarily done for new leagues. The draft list will probably
be randomized at initialization (Friday) in order to make it fair for everyone.
If you're interested in trying out pro football, here's a great chance to try
without having to face DEL's elite coaches.
One other item -- I'm still looking for a commissioner for this league. This
needs to be a veteran pro football owner, who doesn't mind helping a league
full of new coaches learn the ropes. If you're interested, e-mail me at
andy@dolphinsim.com. I'll help out for the first season as an assistant
commish as well, but need someone who can stick with it long-term. For obvious
reasons, the commish should either not play for the first couple seasons, or
else take it really easy on the new guys, i.e., using this to test out
screwball strategies or something like that...

By the way, only a few spots left, and season initializes tomorrow. Anyone
