Very good text book version. I use the below spiel to those unfamiliar with the
terms and methodology.
I work in the service/transactional side with little experience with
manufacturing. The way I describe is that I take the 'I think the problem
is..." and turn it into statistics and data that you really know where the
defects/problems are occuring in the process and then eliminate the root of
those defects/problems.
Done well it is a very rewarding and more importantly accurate way to improve
processes.
Anyone with specific questions feel free to email me, I have been traveling a
lot so have not had time to do personal emails.
I also train some of the basic classes to our employees and leadership teams so
have lots of stories and experience with that also.

One of the best weekends of my life was spent in Innsbruck. One night we
decided to drink one beer in every bar in town. Somehow we ended up in a gay
disco. We were so drunk we didnt care. When we finished our beer and walked out
the door, our Colonel was walking by, he saw us walking out of a gay disco.
Needless to say, we were outed in formation, when we got back to the base.
Seriously, the mountains are just bueatiful. I pobably would have had more

I loved Nolan, but he did get out of hand. He thought he was bigger than the
university. Plus he challenged his boss. I do hate it that there are people
out there who are prejudice to the extreme, but most aren't. To me it seemed
like if anybody was prejudice it was him. Anyway, he did have a good run but in
the end he left AD Frank Broyles no choice.
We'll finally make the tournament this season i feel. We'll find out a little
bit about our team Monday night as we play UConn in Hawaii at 10:30 central.

Scott -- I have a "completed" novel (260 pages) and am mildly shopping for an
agent for it.
I'm also writing one to four short stories a week and submitting them. So far,
my rejections have been factually based (change of formats in magazines since
their last entry to Writer's Guide).
I have eight stories out and have two more that I need to polish and submit
this week. One is "normal" size ... about five pages ... the other is quite
long ... about 22 pages and its something I will submit to a specific fantasy
magazine.
The novel is a mystery .. the short stories are mostly romance.
Truthfully, it needs one good more scrub and about 40 pages.
Keep writing ... I write during lunch 4 days a week at work and then on the
other three days, I try to write at least one day from home.

I was a UNC fan for all my youth, but got put on the waiting list at Carolina
when I applied for a journalism major. Went to NC State instead for
journalism. Carolina later accepted me, but I was ticked off enough then that
I decided to go to State.
I wrote a fantasy/sci-fi novel after college, but never got it published.
Tried many stories for magazines, ahd a few published, hooked up with a
photographer who was trying to make it and that's when I started getting my
magazine work.
I later decided to try again, but was never satisfied with my writing style.
Started using what I had learned from the photographer, and covered the
Carolina Panthers, NC State and UNC, an also got a spread after Sept 11 taking
shots of ground zero and the Tribute in Light. That was my first trip to NYC.

Jay, I played my freshmen year at OSU in the 95-96 season. Started 16 games
and was the leading scorer at 17 years old.
And what I meant by working with plants, I usually spend my entire day outside
working on identification of trees and shrubs as well as the maintenance of
gardens. Seriously there are probably 70 plants in my house right now too, and
it's a small house. I've got a banana tree, lemon tree, and a ton of different
tropical plants. Somewhere along the line I realized that working with plants
was much nicer than working with people because people can have attitudes or be
a pain, while plants only thrive or die. Thankfully most of the time they
thrive.
I will say that it's freaking hilarious to see the people that come into a
garden center saying that they are trying to grow "tomatoes" in the middle of
the winter.

I'd like to add that our dolphinsim guys group page also has a forum, in case
anyone is interested, and also a chance to post personal photos and bio's. It's
some interesting stuff. We currently stand at 51 members strong.
It's all free, and you finally get a chance to see some of the DEL'ers and
learn more about them.
I'm still thinking we should try to coordinate a DEL get-together or convention
of some sort. Andy, how many people can your house sleep?

My grandmother was so poor during the depression, her family ate her pet
rabbit.
She used to tell me that story when I whined about money. That and the one
where they couldn't afford gloves- so they would put a hot potato in their
pocket on their 2 mile walk to school.... then eat it for lunch.
