If two coaches wanted to split a team, can assistants pay a league fee?

I think if you were both paying by mail, you could split it up. You can send
money in for anybody that way by marking on the payment to whom it should be
applied.
If you are paying via Paypal, I think the only two ways that could work is if
the "head coach" allowed you access to his DEL account and you applied funds to
it (not a great idea.) A better way would be for the assistant to transfer his
portion of the fee to the head coach's Paypal account and then the head coach
could pay the whole season.

I've actually paid for friends in the past, I just attached a note on the
paypal that "this is for so and so's team". Not sure that it could be
attached to one specific team however.

The best way to handle this is to have the assistant send mail to the "help"
account (via the web form, and after logging in so that I can verify his login
info). Just say that you want $5.95 transfered to so-and-so, and I'll take
care of it.
