Why are most of my recruits ignoring my PT promises?

Did they ask for PT promises?

No, I don't think so. Does that make a difference?

Yes. They'll ignore PT promises they weren't looking for.

What's the point of PT then? It only works if the guys have the S? That's sort
of useless.

Recruits do not need the S to consider PT promises--I have non-ignored promises
going out to several non-S recruits every season--but some of them just don't
factor it into their decision.

That very notion has always seemed odd to me. I can see a player ignoring
playing time from a team that has depth where he plays. I can't see a guy
ignoring playing time when he 'would' be the starter on that team. I think the
wording is wrong, since the promise might not be enough to get the kid to visit
your school...but he would never flat out ignore it. In real life, that just
woudnt happen.

If you have anyone on your team even close to decent at the same position they
will probably ignore your promise.

What's the worth of PT promises? very little, unless your in dire need then it
gets you about 1 - 1/2 of prestidge bonus.

I love the concept, but can't stand the practice.

The warning is fine as you at least know when its not going to do any good to
make the offer. If I recall, it was intended by Andy to let coaches know we
were at risk of having better players on the roster at the recruit's position
after tc and might have problems living up to our promises.

I have a major issue with the way the sim has players evaluate the positions
they could play however. If you have 1 player who would be your best guy at
several different positions then the sim assumes that player is at every
position a recruit is suited for rather than understanding that the same guy
can't play multiple positions at the same time.

If I had better players, I wouldn't be offering PT. But the sim thinks guys
with Rs of 4 somehow can play LB.

The sim looks at expected (typical) player development as well as what it is
now. As for the Rs4 as OLB - just use that info to better understand how the
sim values attributes at certain positions (and therefore what is more
important in determining the outcome of plays involving various player
matchups).
