J.Gasper FB So 0 7 9 1 7 5 1 0 11

Stud fullback, I know, but should he be my tailback? I am really dealing with
this right now and trying to figure it out!

I've got this guy at TB right now, but I am considering moving Gasper and using
this guy in my long and hurry situations. (SO I can run draws with him against
Penn St :) )

T.Peterson TB So 10 1 7 4 1 2 2 0 11

What do you guys think?

Keep 'em where they are.

Agree... Peterson is good enough to get the job done and that kind of FB
blocking for him is impressive with the occasional goal-line touchdown.

Peterson TB, Gaspar FB. They're both likely to demand PT anyway, so you'll
either need them at different positions or run the wishbone. And Gaspar IS a
prototypical All American FB and should excel there. And you have plenty of
depth at TB without him. So, what is the question? There really isn't one,
unless you want to toy with moving Gaspar to the OL or to TE, or Peterson to
WR, but that obviously isn't optimum.

There's no reason for DEL FBs to be anything more than a dedicated blocker.
I'd put him at TB, he's a better runner.

Using the FB as a 6th O-lineman is certainly tried-and-true in DEL, but many
coaches have had good results running with the fullback too. If there wasn't a
solid option at TB already, I'd put Gasper there and run lots of 1-back sets,
but with his blocking I think you give yourself more options with both on the
field together.

I haven't had a FB carry in at least 3 years, they do catch the occasional pass
though.

My scheme matches AJ's comment. I don't typically run with the fullback; but,
want a devastating blocker at the position. Having one that can catch the ball
is a definite plus as you can then take better advantage of opposing defensive
weaknesses.

I agree, put him at TB.

FBs can run quite effectively from the inside. There's no reason he can't.

But yeah, I'd use his as a TB, too. I like having two tailbacks for endurance
purposes.

I just can't see running 2 very different players at TB when we can't control
which plays get run based on who is in the game. With the difference in Sp and
Wt, if you put Gasper at TB you will have a running game that is either focused
on inside runs and will not work nearly as well when your 1 Wt backup is in, or
you will have a balanced running attack in which you can't control which one is
in during N and R situations and what plays get called. On the other hand,
Gasper at FB in an I set is a good enough lead blocker to open up the inside
game for Peterson; in a Split set he becomes a running threat himself and you
should be able to get at least 500 yards out of him.

They're both studs. Get 'em on the field at the same time.

I would run a wishbone set with both those guys at RB. Design the set based on
their strengths. Throw to the fast guy and let him run sweeps to the big guy's
side so you essentially have 2 FBs on those kinds of plays. I'd design a lot
of inside runs for the big guy.

I'd also put an OG type at FB.

Here is an example from last season for you to think about while trying to make
a decision.

D.Friedrich TB Sr 7 3 7 4 1 3 8 0 13 -- ------ *S A A TB
A.Kelley TB Jr 0 8 7 1 1 2 5 0 13 -- ------ *S C B FB

D.Friedrich 13 11 149 3 247 1218 2 4 1 10 54 490 5.26 TB
A.Kelley 9 5 53 1 274 1464 8 8 2 11 51 517 5.36 TB

Kelley isn't the blocker Gasper is so I didn't have that issue, but I'm pretty
happy with the results I got when I moved him to TB.

FWIW, I'd play them both at TB, and find a stud blocker to be your FB.

The benefit of a heavy TB rotation has been proven time and again. Keep those
fellas fresh, because they fatigue qucikly, even with a high ST rating.

Thanks guys... i am still in consideration on what I am going to do! I'm
seriously thinking that he will stay at FB and I will use one back sets with
him to make sure I can isolate his plays from the TB's.

TB

That guy will run people over. I would have him as the #2 guy and let him run
when the other guy is winded. Just look at my UT TB to see what I'm talking
about. He's had sick rushing yardage the last two seasons.

Sender: Henry Morgan

As if it even matters. You've got 3 backs better than anyone else in the
conference and the rest of the roster is stacked to boot. You could play your
#4 RB and be fine.

Sender: Just Oz

If you run from the FB position then I would leave the guy at FB. Otherwise,
make him your number 2 TB and set your subs to MOST at TB.
