#1.

Is the classic long yard draw. I was actually the team running it... so it's
just funny to me.

Third down, 29 yards to go, ball is at Buffalo 25, 13:13 remaining.
Offense: 232 Shotgun-Lone TB, no TE, TB strong inside tackle (draw)
Defense: 240 Tight 4-1, 1-zone coverage, pass stunt
Lazo (OLB) blitzing
Trayte runs strong inside-tackle draw.
Trayte bounces to weak inside-tackle.
Poor decision by Trayte.
Hole wide open, Trayte breaks through line
Trayte runs past Coulter (SF ).
Trayte runs through Colson (CB ).
Trayte runs past Little (SF ).
Trayte slips past Bastone (CB ).
Driven out of bounds by Herhold (CB ) for 45 yard gain.

#2
Trayte is 8 speed TB, Yeshigikan is a 1 Speed DT.. should be a good match up
right?

Second down, 11 yards to go, ball is at Philadelphia 31, 1:13 remaining.
Offense: 230 Shotgun-Split backs, no TE, WR strong, WR3 out
Defense: 212 Tight 4-2, 2-man coverage
Browning (ILB) blitzing
Yeksigian (DT ) drops into coverage.
Morales (QB) under medium pressure.
Morales throws 27 yards to TB Trayte (#2 post, blanketed).
Coverage: Yeksigian (DT ) with help
Pass thrown right to Yeksigian; intercepted. No return.

I vote #2.

I've seen #1 like 2 or 3x in my life. I've never seen a DT covering a guy 27
yards downfield on a post pattern. Especially a fat, slow one.

Yeksigian is not fat, he's just big-boned. And, obviously, he got a
*tremendous* jump.

Big boned and long legged. To do that play he would have had to have been
Dwight Howard, physically.

Who's to say he didn't make it more than ten yards from the line of scrimmage,
jumped up and pulled a 12 foot high line drive pass out of the air with one
hand? Yeksigian could be 6-11 and 300 lbs but ripped, just not fast.

It was thrown to the DT. No one said the DT was downfield.

except the next play was 27 yards downfield... I doubt he ran backward

not to mention he was "blanketed"...

on a post that means stride for stride.
