This question is directed towards those people that voted for Bush in the last
election. I am curious, if Bush could run again and went up against Obama,
would you still vote for Bush?

I'm not usually a "what if" kind of guy, but like I said, I'm curious.

I would. I don't like several of the ideals of Obama. Mainly the abortion
issue. He believes it's ok to kill the baby after it's born following the first
attempt at killing it. And then, the judges thing. I don't think I'd like any
judge Obama would appoint.

I honestly don't know. Bush hasn't done a good job, or even an adequate one-
but I have no desire to vote for Obama.

I'd have to watch everything and really think it through. I'd actually at this
point likely stay home- not out of 'apathy' as much as actually making the
point of neither is worth my vote.

Interesting, in that Jeffrey Simpson is the most respected conservative
columnist in Canada, and was Brian Mulroney's favourite journalist.

I would vote for Bush instead of Obama, I would vote for Hillary Clinton
instead of Obama, I would vote for BILL CLINTON instead of Obama, I would vote
for Sarkozy instead of Obama.

While I dislike a lot of what Obama believes, I'm more concerned with the pure
untested nature of who he is and the consistent mistakes that he's made in his
campaign.

His latest issue has been to scrub his web site of "the surge will never work"
and replace it with ... "well its working but it still should have never been
done."

He has no idea what he's doing in regards to governing and that makes him
dangerous.

"He has no idea what he's doing in regards to governing and that makes him

thats sort of funny-

I always felt the neo-cons new exactly what they were doing and that made them
dangerous

AJ -- You could be right.

I don't really view myself as a neo-con, but then probably the neo-cons don't
either.

I'm spending my money fixing things as quickly as I can before Obama gets in
office and all of my spendable income disappears.

It won't matter who wins...

we will have tax increases and programs cut. I can't see how we can survive
without it.

I hate to jump in a political thread, I've done such a good job staying out of
them...I just can't help myself.

I voted for Bush and wouldn't vote for him again, but I wouldn't vote for
Obama, I would have to pick a third party guy. I just have this innate feeling
that I'm responsible for the choices I make, and voting for either of them
would just seem wrong to me.

I have always said that I vote my morals first, and I just don't feel that
either falls in line with my beliefs. To be honest, Bush has done things that
I could've never imagined he'd do, so I really don't trust that if the right
situation comes along he wouldn't disappoint me with going against issues close
to my heart.

My roots are conservative in nature, but I believe we HAVE to take care of each
other. If as a society we refuse to take care of each other, then we force the
government to create programs to take care of those we refuse to take care of.
Therefore I am a conservative who believes in social programs! Maybe that
makes me not so conservative...

I like that....

unfortunately our government is so adversarial, there is never middle ground,
compromise etc, anymore.
