What ever happened to Obama's threat of filibustering the FISA bill if it ever
reached the senate? Now, he is forcasting that he will be president and will
fix the FISA problem when he takes office.
Of course Jesse Jackson seems to have found a way for Obama's major
flip-flop take a back seat and be ignored. Good thing there's no media bias, or
there wouldn't be any stories about Jackson wanting to cut Obama's nuts off or
Obama voting for a bill that he will fix after he becomes president.
Obama has taken flip-flopping to a new level. Only a year ago he claimed he
would support filibustering the FISA bill. After some 'compromise' by
politicians Obama votes FOR the FISA bill then says 'when' he becomes president
he will fix the bill that he voted 'for' after threatening to filibuster it.
Not only does he know he will win the election, but after he wins it he is
going to fix the laws that he voted for (instead of voting against it to begin
with...just in case he doesn't win).

Wow, amazing. He's almost as much a flip flopper as John McCain.
Too bad no one cares.
We've had 8 years of a president whose stubborn refusal to ever update his
policies as times change was so moronic, that the average voter probably now
flip flopping as a REALLY GOOD thing.

"Obama has taken flip-flopping to a new level"
From day 1 it was about the tele-com industries.
"My view on FISA has always been that the issue with phone companies per se is
not one that overrides security interests of the American people,"
he will no longer support a filibuster of the bill if it doesn't include
telecom immunity.

I realize Republican politics has no comprehension of compromise, bi-partisan
working. For the past 6 years, until you lost both the Senate and the House,
it was "we can do whatever we want"... How did that work for you?
Not to mention, if FISA is so damn important- why isn't McCain in Washington to
vote on it?

It worked fine for me. Now, since the dems took control of politics in
Washington, we have "we'll promise you everything, and deliver nothing"... How
is that working for you?

PS...
"The Senate overwhelmingly rejected the filibuster attempt Wednesday, voting
80-15."
Obama would make that 79-16..... a lot of good that would do.
Why bother.

And, McCain being present would make it 80-16, but you complained about his
vote?
My point is, well it's obvious what my point is, Obama is the biggist flip
flopper in any recent memory. He is still one of the most liberal senators of
all time and is only changing his stories to get the vote (no different than
McCain...except the liberal part). It's obvious you are fooled by his chameleon
act. That's your choice. Some of us can see right through it and know that he
won't follow through on any of his promises once (if) he's elected. In fact, he
will stop making these promises that make him seem more centrist the moment the
election is over, win or lose. If he goes back to Chicago to continue his
senator job, I can virtually garauntee he will NOT continue his centrist ideas
that he is passing off as 'refining'.

I wouldn't care if Carrot Top was running for President- I'm not voting for the
party who created this horrid state we are in.
- We are in two wars we have "been supposedly winning" for 8 years, yet I have
no clue what were winning. Other than those pending big oil contracts for
Exxon.
- The economy is collapsing.
- Internationally the dollar is as valuable as toilet paper.
- The National Debt isn't even comprehendible.
- Fuel prices have quadrupled.
- Every product in the grocery store has risen about 50% in just the past
year.
- The past 6 months we have been losing jobs, while the middle class is losing
income.
while the rich got richer.
and after years of being told, "things are really great, it's just the media!!"
no we are told to "stop whining".
I'm to the point I really think the US should divide into two countries, if we
have another Republican President I will likely move out of the country.

Are you moving to Mexico or Canada? Canada gets very cold, Mexico has a
worse economy than ours. So bad that everyone tries getting into our country.

your loving this huh, William?
Because you know even if Obama wins, he will have to do a number of unpopular
things to stop this sinking ship.
The government will need more money to handle it's debt, some of it will
have to come from taxes. Programs will have to be cut.
and you can sit and point fingers.
and maybe in 4 or 8 years when the Democrats have righted the ship (again),
some Republican will run on "tax cuts" again... and we can start this mess all
over again.

Better yet..
I imagine by June of 2009, all of a sudden you'll agree the things aren't so
great and it will be the new Presidents fault. Sort of how Republicans tried
to blame every problem of the first 6 years on Clinton.

Well, I'm not the one making promise after promise about 'fixing' everything
that Bush screwed up. Now, for the last 2 years, things have gotten worse and
no promises have been kept. Why did you elect them into office (and control)?
What were YOUR expectations of the democrats when they took control of the
house and senate? What has been accomplished? Wait, you've already posted a
list of their accomplishments.

Things have gotten worse, I'm not sure what the House and Senate does from a
strategic standpoint?
I wouldn't think they can do much until the first Democratic budget comes out.
