as a true Patriot I can't vote for anyone that called our troops "criminals and
air pirates" like McCain did.
That would be like voting for that traitor John Kerry.

Typical misinformation AJ.
McCain signed a confession while held prisoner.
Kerry accussed soldiers of cutting off ears while safe and sound in the US, but
then you've made up your mind as to what you are going to do.
My prediction is that the Dems win big in the house and Senate, but that McCain
will beat obama fairly easily.
We'll have split government for 4 years during which, hopefully, the GOP will
get its act together so that they can at least make a dent in the house and
Senate when Hillary becomes President in 2012

450 days to pass a Defense Spending Bill and it includes the following:
Using three votes on H R 2642 (Military Construction and Veterans Affairs and
Related Agencies Appropriations Act) this is how things turned out.
On funding 162 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan:
Yeas 141, Nays 149, "Present" 132, Not Voting 12
On troop withdrawal in 30 days:
Yeas 227, Nays 196, Not Voting 11
On spending 21 billion on levees in New Orleans, extending Unemployment
Insurance, and Taxing small business:

Gee, can't imagine why the Dems have a bad rap when it comes to defense of the
nation.

On funding 162 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan:
isn't this the one that the Bush Administration stuck a bunch of stuff in for
Pakistan like at the absolute last minute, but couldn't anty up a couple bucks
for body armour? and left veterans benefits as an afterthought so poorly cared
for- many people voted against it out of disgust?
