Hey guys--I know we have some pretty savvy folks regarding laptops on this
board.
I'm buying a laptop for personal use (have a separate company-supplied laptop
for work) and have pretty much settled on a Mac for a number of reasons.
Does anyone have any groundbreaking opinions on the difference between the
MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro?
From my quick research, looks like the MacBook Pro has twice the memory of the
MacBook (4GB vs 2GB) and the multi-touch technology (which is cool, but I'm not
hung up on getting it) and a larger screen (17" vs 13.3").
Looks like the two have the same horsepower in terms of processor (2.4GHz).
And it looks like the MacBook Air is basically the MacBook, only thinner and
with the multi-touch technology.
Am I missing anything obvious.
Based on my rough research I'm going with the MacBook unless anyone brings up
anything spectacular that I've missed.
Basically looking for a home computer for internet and entertainment (pictues,
music, etc) purposes.
And plan to run Office for Apple as my work uses Office. I can still work on
powerpoint, word, outlooks, and excel from my home computer and simply email
documents to my work account.

Jamie,
The MacBook Air has a smaller HD compared to Pro, and no optical drive.
If it's not a budget buster, go with Pro. The 17" display is great, and it's
helpful being able to use a dvd or cd!

On a side note, and getting back to the topic at hand....and I am not referring
to BBW's....I own a MacBook Pro 17 inch screen laptop and love it. I got one
with 3 GB, before they went to 4 GB. Love Mac.
