Jeff, I find it rather embarrassing the playoffs continue until around June.
It's compounded by reports that the league governors are considering
lengthening the regular season. I didn't hear that accompanied by a proposal
to reduce the number of teams that qualify for the post-season (surprise!).
Nevermind the physical toll it takes on the players, but it seems they don't
help themselves in terms of being able to market the game in non-traditional
markets.
While I'm uncertain about the probability of success the undertaking has, ie,
developing interest in S. States, etc., some of the complaints (I belive
similar sentiments have been posted by some DELers) are the regular season is
so long it's hard to care about those games, compounded by the fact that so
many teams make the playoffs, so it's an even greater struggle to generate
enthusiasm.

I agree 100% Brian.
Blame it on the marketers trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of
hockey. In their little equations they obviously left out some of the stuff you
mentioned.

Jeff...HAHAHA...I knew the first clip would be funny when I saw the mullet!
The second clip was funny in a painful way because it's obvious the guy missed
the intended humour of the square/diamond campaign. Or he did a good job
acting as such. Either way, he should put his time to better use and join DEL.
