with all the e-tough guys floating around recently, I'm wondering who IRL is
the most Chuck Norris guy.

Realistically I am on the tougher side, I can confidently say that after
wrestling in college, and 17 years of rugby- but I'm not really any kind of a
fighter- I think Jay Amado might be the one. He told me seriously once 350lbs
wasn't a problem on the bench.

Or maybe John Fitzpatrick, didn't he play some big time football?

Do we have any special forces guys or ninja warriors in our midst?

I know I'm not, but I know I could kick Carey's ass into next fall. That's all
that matters. :)

Ninja Warrior is a great show. I prefer Unbeatable Banzuke though.

I'm Randy Couture.

I called Kyle a falcon once and he beat me down. He is suckering you guys.

I know that Brian Dust once killed a guy....after a card game over something

Thanks Kevin.

I'm usually really laid back but over the past couple of years I've really been
wanting to actually do some cage match fighting. I know I could beat some guys
down. Seriously.

Sender: Doc Barnes

I realized I should probably list my credentials.

Played soccer for 20 years, and any of you guys saying soccer is for wussies
need to realize that I have seriously injured more guys in soccer than in
fights I've been in. Plus the fights that go unseen by referees.

6'3" 195 lbs. Solid lean muscle and a high pain tolerance. Blue-collar
worker in horticulture where lugging a 350 lb rootballed tree is daily work.

Got beat up daily until I was 10 and realized that it wasn't getting hit in the
face that made me cry but the shock of getting hit that did it.

3 years of great full contact kung fu and close quarters combat training.
Trained with guys twice my size, some being SWAT guys, and had them bow out of
drills against me.

I don't know what else there is other than saying that if you piss me off you
had better be on top of your game because I don't care how big you are I'll
still fight until you kill me or I crush every part of your being.

awesome. Wonder if anyone can beat that?

My first ACL tear came from some thug on the soccer field, you never played on
Whidbey Island, WA did you?

5'6", 190 pounds, noticeable gut but no muscle. Never played an organized
sport after low-level little league, where I was a bench warmer. Never been in
a fight in my life. Did get punched in the head a few times by the boyfriend of
the girl I was dating (the punches was my first exposure to the fact that she
had a boyfriend...), took it surprisingly well. He was kinda scrawny, though.

When the weather gets nice, I'll probably start jogging again to get the weight
back under control. I can usually get up to about a 3-mile run without getting
too winded during the good months, then when it gets cold I let it all go
again.

Kyle, thats great.

I'm pretty big 6'0" 230, look sort of intimidating and play sports
tough.............. but I've been choked out at least 5 times while screwing
around with my friends most of which are 50 lbs lighter.
I am a lousy fighter, good thing I haven't been in a fight in about 10
years.

6 years ago their was a melee with several friends outside a bar and I slapped
the "Cobra Clutch" on a guy who was going to hit my friend in the back and held
him their to things settled.
I was so proud...... "Dude, did you see, I had that guy in the Cobra
Clutch!!!!"

I'm not going to be the #1 Del Bad Boy, but I'll be in the top 1/3.

6'0", 200 lbs, in pretty good shape (34" waist). Bench 225 lbs 10x per circuit
in my regular workouts--squat 275 10x (supported bar--not free bar)

Am now well past my prime (33 years old). Haven't been in an all-out fight
since college.

Now I rely more on rolling my shoulders and looking mean to intimidate guys out
of fighting me when they (or I) get lippy at a bar. If that doesn't work, I
usually find a way to talk my way out of it now--dont' have nearly as much piss
& vinegar in me as I did in college.

Have almost come to blows a handful of times since I graduated college, but
have been able to get my opponent in a serious sleeper-type hold each time
until the group breaks up the fight. I don't have it in me to actually throw a
first punch anymore--but I'm confident I'd punch back if someone did land one
on me to initiate things.

Cullen easily.

He'd kick an ass in RL as easily as he would in the game.

I got in a little bar fight last year, or I should say ended a bar fight. A
guy standing next to me at the bar was getting lippy, he turned around to throw
a punch at my buddy standing behind me. I dropped down off my bar stool and
hit him with a fore-arm shiver right under the armpit before his punch got 60%
thrown. It took the guy clean off his feet and sent him thru about three bar
stools. Before he realized what had happened I was dragging him out into the
parking lot. I told him to go home, he threw three or four haymakers that were
easily avoided, and I went back inside.

Most times though, guys start talking trash so I'll ask them if they'd like to
settle things outside. Amazing how guys, even those bigger than me, will find
a reason to back out of things and tone down their attitude when the 'take it
outside' option is presented.

yuck hearing that, actually only for a boxer. Those mixed martial arts guys,

despite missing more than 1/2 my matches senior year. Vice President of college
rugby club. just recently hit the 365 lb bench and 495 squat maxes (both free
weight lifts). Yes im starting to get over the hill also, 33 yrs old 5'8/ 202

In total I have about 10 years of martial arts experience. The majority of
which was Brazilian Ju Jitsu and American Combato. Also trained in Thai
Kickboxing for about one year.

Was big into competitive fighting in university. Fought to a draw against a guy
that competed in a major full contact tourney in Japan. I also ran a sparring
club in university for 2 years. It was a mixed martial art club that brought
guys with different MA backgrounds together... we'd spar 2 for 2 hours
straight, twice per week.

I'm pretty thick. 5'10" 198lbs. Used to lift and train a lot, but I don't get
into the gym as much as I should. With my current muscle mass I should probably
be closer to 190.

Used to get into fights when I was young and dumb. Haven't had an incident in a
very long time. My motto has always been to never let pride get you into
something and never let fear keep you out of it.

funny you said that, as I was writing that was my thought to. Boston Crab was

I loved the Full Nelson.....or was it the Half Nelson?

I always got it confused, but it was my signature move as a 10-year old when us
neighborhood kids had our wrestling tournaments in the back yard.

Pinning your arms under your opponent's armpits, and bringing them up and
wrapping behind the back of his neck. His arms are locked and he's completely
helpless.

One time I took it too far, and slammed a kid down face first while I had him
in this hold. His nose was bleeding everywhere. I ran home scared sh*tless.
About 20 minutes later the phone rang--I knew I was in trouble. It was his mom
telling my mom what I did. Man, I got grounded for quite awhile with that one.

a kid in my Sunday School class was given a pile driver by his brother and had
a neck twitch after that.

Jamie, the Full was it you did it with both arms...Half was if you had them
with one. Usually the half is an incremental step in an attempt to slap on the
full.

I was a fan of the figure four ... my sisters still give me a hard time for
slapping that one on them when we were younger.

I remember one time in eighth grade, there was a seventh/eighth grade rumble
brewing, and a guy in my class tried to DDT another kid ... it's not as easy to
do when they aren't cooperating.

I'll win because I'll be waiting in the dark with an aluminum baseball bat and

Then I'll hack your computer while they take you to the hospital and spice up

Date: Thu Mar 27 09:48:33 2008
Sender: Jamie Davise

Like others, I usually put zero stock into anything anyone says on a message
board. But DEL is the exception for me. I also belive most of what is said on
here.

And for the most part, I'm pretty honest on here myself. Now, I'm not the best
with details, so when I'm telling a story, if I'm shady on a detail or two,
I'll skew it in the direction to make the story more dramatic, but that's how I
am in person too, so I'm fine rolling that way.

Date: Thu Mar 27 14:59:42 2008
Sender: Doc Barnes

"What a group of tough guys! And when are you going to the bathroom to measure
who has the biggest one?"

In order to do that we might have to scrap a tape measure and find a way to
measure volume. :)

Date: Thu Mar 27 15:06:24 2008
Sender: Joshua MacOscar

I believe that we are a pretty honest group here. I don't see why it helps to
make stuff up. I know that it happens, but it doesn't serve a purpose. You know
the real story, and I doubt it is going to make you "cooler" to make stuff up.
Maybe people get a kick out of it. If so, good for them. I hope that DEL is
devoid of that. I am not sure if I used devoid properly, but it was fun.

Date: Thu Mar 27 15:17:53 2008
Sender: Laurent Boudias

I was not thinking about people lying here. I was more interested in the reason
of such a thread.

Doc, I hope it's not flat.

Date: Thu Mar 27 15:21:51 2008
Sender: Doc Barnes

Laurent, it's just that a tape measure serves no purpose to some when a
displacement test might work better. Oh and you might need a five gallon
bucket for the test ;)

I guess I just assumed people tell the truth because of where I've live. There
are pro athletes and celebrities everywhere... and when I lived in Seattle that
city is so small eventually you run into everybody..

I remember seeing Ryan Leaf on a bicycle dressed like a dork.

now-
Julio Franco lives a few blocks over, my wife knows "The Rocks" x-wife by first
name, I saw Anna Kournikova training on the beach once at sunset.
I know growing up in PA, things were different... but now it's no big deal.

Just this morning I watched a guy flat bench 550lbs.
