So the sim says this guy is a C/B, and he does have some decent attributes, but
he's too small to play forward--can you really use a guard at CBEL tier-1 with
no Ps?

Sure, I have had sucess with SGs with 1-2 pass.
But they better have great shot and defense, and you only want them in there if
the rest of your team can PASS.

I'd take that guy in a heart beat.
Rogers always has great passing teams-
other than my PG's- PS is a low priority for my style.

I had a similar guy a few seasons back. His stats looked okay, but we didn't
do well as a team. I don't know that it can be attributed to him or not. As I
recall, he came in as a walkon, had a decent camp, and then demanded playing
time. I think I let him go after the season when he demanded a scholarship.
I wouldn't recruit someone like that at SG, but he's worth holding on to if he
was a walkon. That Ps might at least get up to a 3-4 range with a good camp
and a season or two. If his other stats improve also, he could be solid.

sure he averaged 1.9 turnovers per game, but he also averaged 14.6 points....
I'll take that trade off anyday.

I have a similar player this year as a walkon. He is not as good offensively
and not as tall as I would like. Another problem is he is a redshirt freshman
but he has good defensive qualities and shoots the ball pretty well. I will
more than likely give him a training camp to see what he does.

I think it really comes down to how you play, if you pass the ball a lot, play
zone, press, trap etc.. PS is much more important - than if you drive the hoop
more, pass less and play shot defense.

passing should be important if you drive, as its also a value of ball
handling...

what I mean is if your PG drives to set up the offense PS is great, however if
he is just is dishing off to someone throwing up a shot it's not near as
important for those receiving the pass.
On second thought, enough of my secrets!!! Inviting is this Thursday-

He never got above a C/B, but he put on 3 inches (so he split time at SF & SG)
and improved in the scoring attributes, had several 30-point games this year.
