How many defenses can one use before the penalty for not using the same defense
enough hurts you significantly?
I'm guessing Andy hasn't set it up so that one effectively has to use only one
defense all season, especially given the "secondary defense" option.
But suppose I want to use man to man most of the time when I have a chance to
set matchups for a game, a 2-3 zone when the opponent lacks perimeter shooters,
and a matchup zone both as a secondary defense when the matchups of those on
the court are similar enough that I don't have specific matchups I want, and as
an occasional primary defense when I can't set matchups a given day (as if it's
realistic it would be a superior defense if one isn't setting specific matchups
anyway-- and the other player doesn't know it's coming and can't exploit it).
If I did that, would I get killed by the defense change penalty?
I really hope he does what he said in the other thread he'd do and remove the
defense change penalty, as setting defenses for specific teams, when there's
time, would be best. But until/unless he does...would that really mess my team
up?

I think the defense change penalty has been removed entirely.

I know Andy said he was doing that in a thread, yet it isn't in the "recent
changes" section, so the signals are mixed.
I hope it's removed. Realistic or not, the game has greater playability
without it.

Cool...I'm glad to hear that.
I recognize that in real life a team will get better at a defense through
practice, but also few teams use the same defense all the time, and I'm glad to
have the ability to switch off without penalty.

I didn't mind the switch penalty - but it was unrealistically high IMHO.
