Someone might be able to answer this question: when you set-up "shooting
against" strategy for a team does that carry over from 1 season to the next?
For example: I set-up my team to shoot against my rivals team PF, the season is
over we go through recruiting and camps and play the team again will my team
still be set-up to shoot against their PF? or does it clean the slate from
season to season?

If you do not reset your coaching orders, yes I think it keeps the
shoot-against orders for that one particular team. If that one particular team
no longer has some of those players on the roster, or has other new players,
then I think it would ignore them.
My understanding is that shoot-against is team-specific and player-specific,
not position-specific. So, you cannot specify to "always shoot against the
opposing PF" in general.
