Im looking at this guy on the CBA waiver wire:
568 E.Hillebrand SG 22r 9 7 5 4 6 3 8 16 100 6' 7" 0.08 -- B A SF 4.05*
1.71
In wondering what people think-is he worth the likely huge salary? And how
would you use him? My instinct would be to use him at PF, since the "slashing"
type of player never works in the sim.
Im so tired of being burned by signing guys and having them do nothing, so I
thought Id get some other opinions before I bothered.

This guy has "Super Star" written all over him in my view. He is the total
package. You do not very often find a 22 year old rookie with his skills. He
is an excellent passer and he defends well. He should be a very good
rebounder. His intel is good and will get better I am sure. He has the
ability to create his own shot. I would play him at SF. He is the pro-type SF
for me. At 6' 7" he will match up well with most of the players at that
position. I would set his passing depth at C and his SD at SF. If you have
decent PG's they will get him the ball on the low post a lot and he will draw a
lot of fouls. When he is covered good he has the ability to kick the ball out
to a wing player. The amazing thing about this guy is his training is still
only 16. I can see him playing 24 minutes a game, averaging about 16-18 pts
per and getting 6 -8 boards a game. You better get your checkbook out
though...:) Good luck Red!

Passing Depth at C . . . ? Huh?

Yea....I do that quite often with a good SF that can post up and has scoring
ability, and have had very good results. But if you are un-comfortable with
that move him out on the floor.

Actually, the "huh?" was regarding the term passing depth. I just checked the
Help page and see I was thinking "playing depth" when the actual term is
"passing depth" as you said.
Thats an interesting thought, and it never dawned on me to put a 6'7" guy in
the paint before. Sounds like a good thing to try out!

He is a great player...but you won't get him. :-)

I also wanted to make this comment...this guy will not ever put up superstar
numbers offensively. He will be a guy that makes his team better but you will
feel like you are overpaying him everytime you look at his stats. But he is a
guy that many would pass on or trade after a season or two because they don't
think he is doing anything worthwhile. But in reality, he would be a large
piece to the puzzle of building a championship team.

Oh well Utah ended up with him. Another day in the CBA, the rich get richer :(

I made a mistake or he would of been a Clipper.
When I placed my bid for him I had 2 players injured so I had more cap space
available. The 2 players became healthy right before the waiver wire so my bid
would have put me over budget so it was not accepted.
I offered a 10 year deal for much more than Utah.

I'm glad I got him for 7yrs. I actually put in a bid for 6yrs but decided to
offer an extra year. I don't like to over paid for any players.
I prefer to use him as a point guard. Most people will tell you that i like
big point guard because i think they tend to draw more fouls and have an
advantage on defense.
In the game againt Minnesota today he put up 12pts, 5ast and 1 turnover as a
backup.
He also played in the del cup this weekend:
Name G Mn FGA FGM 3PA 3PM FTA FTM Stl Blk Reb Ast PF TOC Pt Ps
Hillebrand 1 22 8 5 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 3 3 0 10 PG

Hillebrand 1 17 4 3 0 0 2 2 1 0 1 3 4 0 8 PG
