I know there are space restrictions, but I'd be thrilled to see OBP displayed
with career stats.
Any chance offensive and defensive stats could be separated? When a coach
clicks on the hyperlink for a player, offensive stats would automatically be
displayed. From that page, there'd be another link for the defensive stats.

I like the idea, but i'd rather see Slugging first. Since you can at least
calculate OBP from hits, walks, and at-bats. If i'm not mistaken, career stats
don't include doubles and triples.

Kendell, where do I find sacrifices and hit-by-pitch numbers to make the OBP
calculation? SLG would be another helpful stat to see.

Good question...i don't use them. you can a rough estimate with just walks and
hits and atbats. good enough for gov't work.
(and i'm pretty sure it's all the sim uses when it lists OBP in the season
stats or in the PbP's and what not). Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I think HBP
get lumped in with walks.

Kendell, I use hits + walks / AB for best estimate, but noticed when I go
through PbP, the sim displays a lower number than one produced using those
inputs.

Hmm... Do you use (H+BB)/AB or (H+BB)/(AB+BB)?
If you meant the 2nd, when i've checked, they've always been the same. The
numbers in the pbp are always the numbers at the beginning of the game (so if a
guy goes 0-4 with no walks, his current obp of that if you check the roster's
(H+BB)/(BB+AB) would be lower than the OBP displayed throughout the latest pbp.
I guess the only other thing is that I rarely, if ever, sacrifice bunt, and i
think the sim already gives you an atbat if you hit a sacrifice fly (even
though MLB stats don't), so i may not be noticing the sacrifice influence.

Space restrictions? My team's page takes up about 30% of the width on my 32
inch, 1080x1920 monitor :-)

The space restrictions date to the DOS play-at-home version of the game. It's
only 80 characters wide.
I don't know if anyone still uses it, but it's got to be so much more widely
used online that I would hope we would start to see some complete lines soon
(runs scored, OBP, Slg, etc.).
