So EPBL just had its annual clickfest.

I'd like to suggest that instead of a clickfest in leagues, we have a three day
waiver period (i.e. by Monday night of the season opening day).

That gives people with weekend access (most users I would think) three days and
people with work only access, all day Monday.

Not perfect, but better than those of US (yes I do clickfest) who sit there
waiting for things to pop up.

In truth, I probably added 40 players and then cut 37 of them.

But with Clickfest, I had to add a bunch then evaluate since I couldn't be sure
that the players would still be there otherwise.

I second that.

I see absolutely no reason why clickfest shouldn't be replaced by another
waiver period. It changes DEL into some arcade game.

Clickfest can make your roster appear to be a little better or make you feel
better about your roster, but there's a reason why those guys weren't signed.
Let's say a player goes from a "C" to a "B" - they'll still play down to what
they've done in the past.

Who has EVER signed a player during "clickfest" that REALLY made a difference?

If you really wanted the clickfest players, you would have made your waiver
bids in the 3 days large enough to include them. I dont understand the
seasonal bitching about clickfest when these are the same players that could
have been picked up for 3 rounds.

One of the things I like about DEL is even casual players can excell.

Anytime we have a reward for the fastest computer, or the person that can log
on the most- I'm not a big fan of it.

If anyone who participated in EPBL Clickfest is willing to list some players
they kept as a result of it, I'm interested to learn their quality.

Using Oz's example, I'm uncertain I'd be concerned if a GM wanted to sign 40
players and felt only 3 were worth keeping.

but the real point is... minor leaguers.

Milwaukee signed 19 players in the first 5 minutes.

When this issue was first raised, we had only one round of waiver signings
before all players hit the free agent list. In my mind, the fact that the
current complaints are over minor leaguers that already slipped through two
signing rounds indicates that it's really not much of an issue...

in any league it's about post camp improvements.

I don't care as much in EPBL, but I don't like it in the Pro Football leagues
at all.

Got it. Somehow I was thinking of the first clickfest of the season (which
still exists too).

The first clickfest of the season, though, is after two waiver periods and
without any camp attribute changes.
