out.
Top of 7th. Starting pitcher is pulled for a reliever.
Shouldn't the sim look at the 'quick hook' and 'pinch hit for pitcher' settings
for the upcoming inning instead of current inning in this situation?
I'm maybe a bit overly frustrated because my late inning defensive replacement
(10 df, 10 sp) couldn't make two plays in the top of the 8th to cost me the
game. Of course, the starter may also have had the same problems...I'll have
to check the at bat database to see how tough of a play it was.

Might be worth sending in a bug as it doesn't seem correct unless you had no
Pinch hitters available due to injury or something like that.

Under the Archive link on the left side of your league home page.
The top choice is "at bat database". Click into that...
Near the bottom is a link for "retrieve the raw data". Click into that...
For my example, I put in the fielder ID for the player in question (373 in this
case)
Click on Submit Query.
Looking back at the box score, I think he was on the field when pitcher numbers
1185 and/or 1359 were on the mound.
If I am looking at the right spots, I see two entries that I think would be the
plays in question (crossing fingers on formatting):

The difficulty rating of these two plays was 168 and 174, both VERY high
numbers and the two most difficult plays that he's faced all season so far.
My conclusion is that no one in the league likely would have made those plays
and I can blame it on the pitchers or credit the opposing hitters.
